Underwater inspection and positioning with ROV on ENAP offshore platforms in the Strait of Magellan.

Offshore oil and gas production in the Strait of Magellan takes place in one of the most demanding marine environments on the planet, with strong currents, low temperatures and limited operating windows.

STS Scope

Underwater inspection and positioning service using ROVs for ENAP's offshore platforms in the Strait of Magellan. STS supported the lowering and placement of anode support structures on the seabed around the platforms (SP-1, SK-2, SK-3 and their tripods) using ROV equipment and a positioning system. Their position was determined according to the plan for dimensioning relative to the columns of each platform. The contract also included a seabed survey, identifying existing submarine pipelines and structures.

STS provided remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs) and precision positioning to inspect and locate structures in the platform environment and survey the seabed, expanding the operational window by combining ROVs with commercial and industrial diving. Proven capability to operate to international standards in the southernmost part of Chile.
