Large-scale copper mining operates in the driest desert on the planet and depends on seawater to sustain its production: the continuity and reliability of the collection system are critical to avoid stopping operations.
Expansion and reinforcement of the seawater intake bell (PV4-d) at the Centinela Wharf. STS supplies, manufactures, and installs the steel and HDPE components of the new intake bell, along with the structural elements and ballast that increase the self-weight of the tower on which the intake pipe is mounted. The project builds upon previous reinforcement work on the intake tower carried out by STS.
Intervention on operational infrastructure within demanding timeframes, without interrupting supply, using ADCI-certified Commercial Industrial Divers and our own fleet. This is a current contract that confirms STS's long-standing relationship of trust with the large-scale copper mining industry.
